For 30 days, at the Pio XII Museum and at the Medieval Tower of Santiago in the city of Braga, 68 works of art and 37 artists selected by it, from various countries including Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Italy and the Kingdom Kingdom, where everyone accepted the challenge of creating an original piece and demystifying Sacred Art, showing the visiting public a Contemporary view of sacred art, between August 3rd and September 4th, 2018, more than 2,000 people were able to visit the Biennial, ending on the 4th of September, with a magnificent Prize Giving Gala to the artists who won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and a prize awarded by the public visiting the exhibition, an innovative challenge.   Innovative and with great support from the entire public, who can vote and choose the Work they liked best at the Exhibition, the event took place at the emblematic Theatro Circo, an icon of the City of Braga.     At the 1st International Biennial of Contemporary Sacred Art in Braga, in addition to the magnificent works and sculptures on display, Brazilian Visual Arts artist Valter Nu should also be highlighted, who accepted the challenge of building a 4-meter-high sculpture, using recycled materials plus scraps, Drums of computers and wires, inspirational material for the artist who works with reuse for a better world. Obtaining the necessary materials in Portugal was a very laborious task, but the efforts gave a positive result, then it was just a matter of following the construction of the sculpture for 2 days and 3 nights, everything was done as planned, we have the sculpture “Ora Pro Nortes” calling the attention of all who passed by the place a sculpture of 4 meters high that after 30 days in front of the Pio XII Museum, as an integral part of the Biennial, the Giant Sculpture, the legacy of the Artist for Portugal was transferred to the gardens of Sameiro , one of the sanctuary of the City of Braga, which receives more than a million visitors per year from all over the world and it was possible once again to show its experience in large-scale cultural productions!
