Obvara Collection by Portuguese Artist José Ramos

Ceramic pieces in hand-worked stoneware, fired according to the obvara technique (the piece is removed incandescent from the kiln and introduced into a syrup of organic materials in fermentation process). Taking advantage of the crossing of raw materials, the ceramist projected and prepared the pieces so that they could receive decorative contributions in vegetable fibers, more precisely in junça de Beselga, presenting this challenge to the artisan who, in an experimentalist approach, executed the work in point and braid so characteristic of this traditional production, "molding" it to the shapes of ceramics and the dialogue between the two arts.
