Sabah Anees

“I believe Painting is a great window to express – the good, bad and the ugly –
myriad of emotions connected to relationships, social realities, experiences of
life in general, with all its multifaceted and intriguing aspects….. one evolves
everyday as an artist”…Sabah Anees.

Sabah had natural inclination towards
various forms of Fine Art. A self-taught artist who has been painting and
exploring till date.
In her own words:
“I grew up in an artistic environment. The only decor that I saw as a child on
our home walls were the exquisite paintings done by my Mom.
Was fortunate to live at a stone’s throw from Bharat Bhavan; the cultural
centre at Bhopal, where I got to attend art exhibitions and witness performing
arts, thus inculcating in me a deep appreciation of various forms of ART”
Sabah’s oeuvre encompasses painting and creating jewellery with gemstones.
She has used varied materials as the base for her artworks and has painted on
glass, fabric, canvas, paper, wood, etc. She mainly works with Acrylic and Oil,
but also experiments with other mediums. The physical elements of her
artworks are vast-ranging…however light and color pervade every aspect of
Sabah’s work. 

‘My inspiration comes from everything that’s around me ...People, Nature,
Emotions…everything serves as an inspiration.’….she says.
She has been into the Art scene for past 24 years. Her artworks were exhibited
in Africa( Addis Ababa), Khartoum( Sudan), Kuwait ,Pakistan, India and in Dubai
UAE.,Qatar,Georgia.

Sabah had also worked with many NGOS in Africa giving Art Therapy.She had worked with Hope Foundation in Ehiopia giving Art classes to HIV+ Kids.

She participated as a Solo Artist at the World Art Dubai 21 and in Group art in WAD 2022.
Recently she attended QIAF, QATAR INTERNATIONAL ART FESTIVAL where she
was awarded the ‘BEST LIVE  FASHION ART AWARD’.
