Information

I studied Art at school and later did ‘A’ level art in UK, and then decided to pursue a career in Architecture which I studied at Cambridge University.

My drawings are executed using rotring ink pens of various sizes, felt tip pens, gold and silver metallic pens and some coloured pencils. These drawings are a hobby started in the 70’s but there was a 32 year hiatus before I started again in 2007 after being inspired by a fellow architect who had taken to painting late in life. It has been an enjoyable experience, therapeutic by nature while creating these visual comments that hopefully are enjoyed by the perceivers.

I was born on 20th September 1950, in New Delhi to Sushilaand Atma Jayaram. I was educated in Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, UWC Atlantic College, Wales, Pembroke College Cambridge, Bartlett, UCL London University before becoming a member of the R.I.B.A as a chartered Architect.

I was fortunate to spend some of my childhood in China and Egypt while my father was posted there. My mother was an artist of some renown having studied at the Chelsea School of art and under the tutelage of David Paynter in Ceylon. She introduced me to the world of art and numerous Artists both foreign and domestic which inspired him over the years.

I have exhibited my work on three separate occasions in late 2007, October 2017 at the Nehru Gallery Hyderabad and in June 2022 at the Gallery 78 in Hyderabad
